Our People - - - Written by Steel & Tube on November 28, 2023 As an integral part of [Steel & Tube's](https://steelandtube.co.nz/) comprehensive suite of solutions for the steel industry, our dynamic roofing team consists of subject matter experts who thrive on staying updated with the latest trends and products. Their unwavering professionalism and dedication to providing top-notch technical advice shine through in their work. However, getting to know the individuals behind the expertise adds a personal touch to the process. Sylvan Chang, our Roofing Specification Manager, describes himself as meticulous, enthusiastic, and environmentally conscious. Sylvan shares, "Seeing projects come to life using our products is incredibly rewarding." The five-member roofing team seamlessly blends their commitment to customer service with their enthusiasm for roofing and façade solutions. What sets our [Steel & Tube roofing](https://steelandtube.co.nz/specifiers/roofing-cladding) specification team apart is their diverse background and experience in various technical and project-related fields. Notably, two team members have architectural expertise. With all their multifaceted skillsets, they are all well-equipped to assist professionals from diverse sectors in achieving their project goals. Logan Price, the National Technical & Specification Manager Roofing, elaborates on their approach: "We cultivate long-term partnerships with specifiers and architects. We guide them in selecting the right products for their applications, resolve intricate technical details, and compile comprehensive building specifications." Logan brings his strong architectural background to the table and describes himself as personable, team-oriented, and inquisitive.          ![Roofing Team blog](https://promos.steelandtube.co.nz/hs-fs/hubfs/Roofing%20Team%20blog.png?width=767&height=456&name=Roofing%20Team%20blog.png)                                                           Top left: Gary Clark, Geoff Wiblin and Logan Price. Bottom left: Sylvan Cheng and Marie Macatual. **Going the extra mile** The roofing specification team's commitment to finding the perfect solution for each project has solidified their strong reputation. Geoff Wiblin, Specification Manager Roofing for the South Island, shares a notable example for going the extra mile; “The StructureWise team faced a bird nesting issue on a hangar project in Kaikōura. Angela Smith from our South Island team introduced them to COLORSTEEL® Dridex® roofing and bird-proof purlins, effectively solving the problem. We provided the insights and technical data StructureWise needed to discuss this solution with their client. It was a great team effort by all! Geoff, with over eight years of experience at Steel & Tube, emphasises his enthusiasm for the roofing industry. He describes it as forever evolving and it’s something that continues to get him excited daily. The roofing specification team takes pride in staying up-to-date with industry innovations and continually deepening their specialised knowledge. Gary Clark, our North Island Specification Manager for Roofing, returned to New Zealand in 2011 (he’d spent 15 years prior in the industry 15 year). He mentions the pleasure of reconnecting with old customers and friends. Gary, is known for his outgoing, professional, and friendly demeanour and when asked about highlighting the teams commitment to excellence he mentions ‘’Steel & Tube’s roofing specification team are proud members of organisations such as NZLA, MRM, EBOSS, ArchiPro CRS and RANZ. Additionally, they take pride in their involvement with Eco Choice Aotearoa, emphasising their dedication to sustainability, as well as their active participation in the [Sustainable Steel](https://steelandtube.co.nz/sustainability) Council. **Invested in our products** Logan is adept at matching products with specific jobs and often suggests the Legacy roofing and cladding profile, which was recently used in the [Mt Albert Rugby League Club upgrade](https://promos.steelandtube.co.nz/a-modern-cladding-profile-for-historic-sports-club-refurbishment). According to Logan, "[Steel & Tube Legacy](https://steelandtube.co.nz/specifiers/legacy) offers an excellent combination of affordability and aesthetics. It's a versatile choice, popular in industrial and light commercial construction, with an architectural appeal." Marie Macatual, our Technical Advisor, also brings architectural expertise to her role. She assists specifiers with compliance questions and provides quick access to key data. Marie describes herself as determined, intuitive, and helpful. Regarding specific product recommendations, she notes, "Locations with higher wind zones call for products such as the [ST roofing range – ST7, ST900, and ST963.](https://steelandtube.co.nz/specifiers/roofing-cladding) These profiles have performed well in recent wind load testing." **Futureproofing the industry** The Steel & Tube roofing specification team's forward-thinking approach positions them well to anticipate future trends and challenges. Geoff explains, "Several industry changes are on the horizon, including MBIE's supply line clarity reforms and the new H1 requirements. As the residential sector narrows, there will be increased focus and competition in the commercial sector, including health and education." **Confidence through accreditation** The team's credibility in the industry is further reinforced by their affiliations and accreditations. Logan highlights, "We are proud members of NZIA, RANZ, and NZMRM, and collaborate with EBOSS and CMS. Additionally, we are involved with New Zealand Women in Roofing, the Sustainable Steel Council, and Eco Choice Aotearoa. These memberships keep our team well-connected and up-to-date in the industry." Our highly experienced and dedicated roofing team offers free, professional specification consulting and technical support, making us the go to choice for those looking to elevate their projects with some of the finest products available in the market.             [![Shop Online](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6712168/7a0cd199-edc8-42a8-9d6b-cbba36b8f2bd.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6712168/7a0cd199-edc8-42a8-9d6b-cbba36b8f2bd) [![View our full range of Roofing, Cladding and Rain Water Solutions](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6712168/bd567206-8394-4c68-af4e-dd5a35c0b7bf.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6712168/bd567206-8394-4c68-af4e-dd5a35c0b7bf)   ### Let Us Know What You Thought about this Post.
