Dear Valued Customer
We are advising of a price increase on Steel & Tube’s Stainless Steel and Aluminium products. Global supply chains remain under pressure. Freight costs are still elevated, nickel prices have climbed, and aluminium supply remains constrained. Effective 1 October 2026, we will be applying a price increase across the following ranges:
-
Aluminium 5% – 12%
-
Stainless steel 3% – 9%
These increases reflect sustained global cost pressures flowing through into the New Zealand market. Aluminium commodity prices remain elevated as production and stocks continue to be stretched across international markets. Nickel and chromium (the key inputs for stainless steel) also remain elevated, and international mills continue to lift prices to recover cost.
Orders confirmed and scheduled for delivery before 1 October 2026 will be invoiced at current pricing, and quotations issued before that date will be honoured through to their stated expiry.
The global environment remains uncertain, and we will continue to monitor conditions closely. Should cost pressures persist or intensify, we may need to review pricing again.
If you have questions, please reach out to your Account Manager, Tradeshop, our Customer Service Team or our Webshop. Thank you again for your continued support and for choosing Steel & Tube as a key supplier.
Yours sincerely,
James Campbell | National Pricing Manager
