- - Written by Kandin Robinson on July 18, 2024 [Tōtika](https://www.totika.org/)is a standardised system designed to streamline the pre-qualification and assessment of health and safety in the procurement process. Before Tōtika, there was no common standard, leading to numerous proprietary and internal pre-qualification schemes. ![Totika Logo](https://promos.steelandtube.co.nz/hs-fs/hubfs/Totika%20Logo.png?width=227&height=55&name=Totika%20Logo.png) This lack of standardisation caused inefficiencies, as suppliers had to repeatedly qualify against various schemes and standards, wasting time and money for both clients and contractors. The industry has long desired a common pre-qualification standard and a more efficient process, and Tōtika was developed to fulfil these needs. For Steel & Tube Holdings, Tōtika represents a significant improvement in their procurement process, reducing redundancy and enhancing overall efficiency. Achieving Tōtika certification was facilitated by successfully achieving ISO certifications: [ISO 45001](https://www.iso.org/standard/63787.html) for occupational health and safety,[ISO 14001](https://www.iso.org/standard/60857.html) for environmental management, and [ISO 9001](https://www.iso.org/standard/62085.html#:~:text=ISO%209001%20is%20a%20globally,demonstrate%20their%20commitment%20to%20quality.) for quality management. These certifications provided a strong foundation and alignment with Tōtika's standards, making the transition smoother and reinforcing Steel & Tube Holdings' [commitment to high standards](https://steelandtube.co.nz/corporate/our-commitment-quality) in health, safety, and quality across the procurement process.   [![Talk to a Specialist](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6712168/3f603285-b475-4d18-bf0b-eecbf5ccf469.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6712168/3f603285-b475-4d18-bf0b-eecbf5ccf469) [![Shop Online](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6712168/5d05449d-b2bf-4cda-ab31-fdcfc2128fed.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6712168/5d05449d-b2bf-4cda-ab31-fdcfc2128fed) ### Let Us Know What You Thought about this Post.
